Jasmin fits the whole West End into a little over five feet. Precisely, 160 cm, petite, with chestnut hair that runs long and dead straight and swings when she turns, and brown eyes usually halfway through a laugh. She dresses like a night out already planned: something short and dark, a statement earring, one spray of scent she can name down to the perfumer. Early twenties and a Soho local, she knows which side streets are quicker at eleven and which ones are prettier.
Curious is the first thing people notice, playful the second. Jasmin asks what fragrance you are wearing and guesses the notes before you check the bottle. She dances salsa twice a week and will teach the basic step in any lift with enough floor. Cocktails are her other study, less about drinking and more about how a good bartender balances sour, sweet and bitter. English is her language, quick and bubbly, and she never lets a silence turn awkward.
Her West End hotel evening starts on the Strand. Meet her in the American Bar at The Savoy, where the white jackets and the long history make her sit up straighter, and let her order you something classic. She will explain every bottle she can see from the stool. After one round, a stroll up through Covent Garden as the theatres empty, a detour past a perfume shop window, and back to your room before the streets get too loud.

Evening plan
How a night with Jasmin unfolds
Jasmin treats a night in the West End like a tasting menu of places. First course, one aperitif somewhere with a view of the street. Second, a small plates restaurant in Soho where she knows a waiter by name and orders things you would never choose alone. Third, music. If there is a Latin night anywhere nearby she finds it, and she will lead if you let her.
Then the slow course. A taxi back past the lit theatres, her shoes in her hand for the last few steps, a hotel corridor quiet enough to hear the ice machine hum. Upstairs she opens the minibar like a bartender inspecting a rival and mixes something out of whatever she finds. Somehow it always beats the hotel bar downstairs.
