About Lucy

  • Slender, 163 cm
  • Dark brown curls worn long
  • Brown eyes, mid twenties
  • Stargazing and serious espresso
  • Runs the river path from Pimlico

FORECAST: clear after ten, light wind, good visibility over the City. Lucy checks it every evening, not for rain but for stars. She is slender, 163 cm, with dark brown hair in long loose curls that refuse to be tamed and brown eyes that drift upwards whenever she steps outside. Her style is soft and a little bohemian, a satin blouse, a long skirt, a coat with too many pockets for notebooks. Mid twenties, living in Pimlico by the river, dreamy in the nicest possible way.

Tender is how she handles people, artistic is how she handles everything else. Lucy sketches in the margins of menus, names cloud shapes without irony and remembers the phases of the moon better than most people remember birthdays. Astronomy is the passion, espresso the ritual: she knows which bars still pull a proper short coffee after dark. Most mornings she runs the Thames path from Pimlico towards Westminster. Her English is gentle and unhurried, and she laughs easily at her own tangents.

In the City her evening points upward. Meet in your hotel near Bank or Fenchurch Street, then walk to the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street, booked ahead, for the view from the top floors as the office lights go out one by one. She finds the few bright planets that London's glow allows and names them without showing off. Afterwards, a short coffee somewhere nearby, a slow walk back through empty lanes, and a hotel room with the curtains open so she can keep an eye on the moon.

Her Square Mile evenings are listed under City of London. The booking page explains each step; send yours with the hotel and a time after sunset.

Evening plan

How a night with Lucy unfolds

Lucy plans a City evening around the sky and then lets the sky change the plan. If cloud rolls in, she swaps the viewpoint for a candlelit wine bar in a lane off Cornhill and sketches the constellations on a napkin instead. If it stays clear, she leads you to the nearest open space between the towers and points out the one bright planet everyone mistakes for a plane.

The coffee comes late and short, because she refuses to sleep through a clear night. Back at the hotel she sits on the windowsill with her knees up and talks about the size of things, how small a bad week looks from far enough away. By the time she leaves, the moon has moved and so, somehow, has your mood.

FAQ 03

Asked of Lucy

3 questions guests tend to ask, answered by Lucy.

A handful, and the planets. It is a small sky here, but that makes every clear night feel like a gift rather than a given.

Short, strong and standing at the counter if the place allows it. Milk after noon is a crime I only forgive in guests.

Along the river from Pimlico, early, before the traffic wakes up. The water looks different every single morning, which keeps me going back.
